Cascading Style Sheets

Return to Primer Index

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) are a way of creating a template of properties. You can define how you want each page to look, independant of the actual content on it. You can have different words - a different message each day, but it will always be the color, the font type, etc., that you defined with your CSS. When used in conjunction with Javascript, you get what is being called Dynamic HTML, or DHTML. Javascript can put "intelligence" and interactivity in a website. CSS is just one more thing Javascripts can manipulate.
